Fishing for the tournament will be allowed on August 3, 2024 from 12:01 am until 4:30 pm in Charleston, South Carolina. All fish must be presented at the weigh-in between 4:30-5:30 pm. Any fish presented after 5:30 pm will not be eligible for tournament entry.
The boundaries for this tournament will be set as any saltwater area that is legal to fish for every contestant (ocean, bays, rivers, inlets, and creeks). Ponds and impoundments are illegal to fish. All fishing must be done with a rod and reel.
Species for this tournament will include: Flounder, Sheepshead, Blackdrum, and Spot Tail Bass (Red Fish) with a minimum of 3 spots. Any attempt to weigh an illegal fish will disqualify the participant.
Awards will be presented to the heaviest single fish of each targeted species. The only exception being that all Spot Tail Bass will be required to have a minimum of 3 spots in order to be weighed. A grand-slam award will be given to one angler with the heaviest aggregated weights of 1 of each of the 4 species. The tournament organizer will have the final word on determining the winner. A lady angler will also be awarded based on the heaviest fish of any species.
This year we are excited to announce the addition of a junior angler category for little fishers ages 15 and under! We will award a single prize to the single heaviest fish regardless of species. Redfish in the junior category will not have the same 3 spot requirement as the adult - any number of spots may be entered. Fish entered for the junior angler prize are not eligible to be entered in adult categories. All South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and U.S. Coast Guard rules and regulations apply to fish limits, licensing, and vessel operations. Anyone receiving a violation during the tournament hours is subject to disqualification. Unannounced visits or inspections by SCDNR officials may be expected at any time. A valid SC fishing license is required for registration and must be presented at the time of weigh-in.
There will be no refunds or cancellations due to weather.
